SALT LAKE CITY – Former Corner Canyon star quarterback Jaxson Dart has entered the Transfer Portal after one year with the USC Trojans.

During his senior year with the Chargers in high school, the 6-foot-3, 215-pound signal-caller was a national Gatorade Player of the Year. Dart started three games for the Trojans during his one season at USC after Kedon Slovis went down with an injury.

During his freshman year, Dart played in six games totaling 1,353 yards for nine touchdowns and five interceptions in a year that saw the Trojans finish with a 4-8 record.

The son of former Utah defensive back Brandon Dart, Jaxson began his high school football career at Roy High School, just 34 minutes north of Salt Lake. BYU was the first FBS program to extend a scholarship offer to him in high school.

Dart’s move into the Transfer Portal comes when massive change is happening at USC. The Trojans hired former Oklahoma head coach Lincoln Riley to be their next headman and Riley’s QB1 at OU this past season in Caleb Williams is currently in the portal. USC appears as a potential favorite to land Williams.

Along with an offer from BYU, Dart also received offers from Arizona State, Iowa State, TCU, and UCLA out of high school. But the suitors for the former state champion QB will likely be large. Dart will likely earn a large contingent of schools to pursue him, as he is viewed as one of the top signal-callers in the Transfer Portal.

247Sports lists Dart as a five-star transfer portal prospect and the third-rated transfer QB in the 2022 Transfer Portal cycle.
