Reports: Saints Add Former BYU QB Taysom Hill To COVID-19/Reserve List

SALT LAKE CITY – The New Orleans Saints added former BYU quarterback Taysom Hill to the team’s COVID-19/Reserve list ahead of Week 16, according to multiple reports.

Hill was reportedly added to the list on Thursday, December 23.
Per agreed-upon NFL-NFLPA policy, clubs are not permitted to comment on a player’s medical status other than referring to roster status. Being placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list is for a player who either tests positive for COVID-19 or who has been in close contact with an infected person or persons.
The move makes the former BYU quarterback doubtful to play in New Orleans’ next game.
In addition to Hill, the Saints also added quarterback Trevor Siemian to the list.
Week 1 starter Jameis Winston suffered a season-ending injury earlier this year and the Saints are now down to rookie Ian Book as their only healthy quarterback.

Coronavirus cases have been surging across the NFL in recent weeks and Hill is one of the latest players to land on the COVID-19/Reserve list.
Hill has started that last three games for New Orleans and has led the Saints to a 2-1 record in those games.
This season, Hill has thrown for 649 yards, two touchdowns, and five interceptions with a 55.7 percent completion rate in nine games played.

The Saints currently own a 7-7 record and sit in second place in the NFC South.
New Orleans’ next game is against the Miami Dolphins on Monday, December 27 at 6:15 p.m. (MDT) on ESPN.
