Taysom Hill Believed To Have Torn Tendon On Finger

SALT LAKE CITY – New Orleans Saints QB Taysom Hill has a long history with injuries in his football career. After earning his first start at quarterback in this 2021 season, it’s believed you can add another injury to Hill’s history of injuries.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the former BYU star quarterback reportedly has a torn tendon in his middle finger. The injury is called Mallet Finger.

It’s not clear if he will need to have surgery immediately, or he can delay his surgery to the off-season.
Hill suffered the injury in last night’s 27-17 loss against the Dallas Cowboys. The injury happened in the first quarter of play with 4:15 remaining. He finished the game passing for 264 yards on a poor 46.3% completion rate. Four of Hill’s 41 passing attempts resulted in interceptions to the Cowboys.
During his college career at BYU, Hill suffered four season-ending injuries in four seasons with the Cougars.
Going into Thursday’s game against Dallas, Hill was dealing with a fascia injury that he played through to earn the starting quarterback spot.
