SALT LAKE CITY – The New Orleans Pelicans stunned the Utah Jazz with a late three-pointer and picked up a win in Salt Lake City

The Jazz hosted the Pelicans at Vivint Arena on Friday, November 26.

New Orleans beat Utah, 98-97.

First Quarter

The Jazz offense got off to a hot start thanks to Bojan Bogdanovic who scored 12 of the team’s first 15 points.

The team’s ball movement carried over from the win over Oklahoma City, but the shots were falling at home at a better rate than they were on the road.

New Orleans was able to keep in the game however due to 4-7 shooting from the three-point line in the opening quarter.

Bogdanovic finished the quarter with 13 points on 5-5 shooting and led 28-23 after the first quarter.

Second Quarter

The Jazz are finding ways to win games without big offensive performances from Donovan Mitchell.

The guard opened the game 3-12 from the floor with just six points, but the team survived because of the hot shooting from the players around him.

The Jazz got loose with the ball and had seven turnovers while going scoreless of the final 4:30 of the second quarter.

New Orleans meanwhile got nine points off the bench from Willy Hernangomez and trailed 46-45 at the half.

Third Quarter

The Jazz had their first 30 point quarter and were able to build a three point lead heading into the final quarter.

Mitchell’s shooting struggles have continued, but the Jazz got good play from Joe Ingles who had 12 points on 5-8 shooting.

Meanwhile, the Pelicans three-point shooting has allowed them to stay close in this game.

After three, the Jazz led the Pelicans 75-72.

Fourth Quarter

The Jazz trailed the Pelicans midway through the fourth quarter before Mitchell came to life.

Mitchell propelled a Jazz run that included a big three-pointer to give Utah a lead with a couple of minutes to go.

With 1.9 seconds left, Pelicans guard Devonte’ Graham drained a 28-foot three-pointer to give the Pelicans a one-point lead.

After an offensive foul was called on Rudy Gobert, the Jazz were unable to make a buzzer-beat from 3/4 court after a Pelicans turnover and fell at home.

With the loss, the Jazz fell to a 12-7 record this season.

Utah’s next game is against New Orleans on Saturday, November 27 at 7 p.m. (MDT). The game will broadcast on AT&T SportsNetwork and The Zone Sports Network.
