Utah Football To Wear ’22 Forever’ Decal On Helmets For Colorado Game

SALT LAKE CITY – When the Utah football team takes the field for the final time at Rice-Eccles Stadium in 2021, they will be sporting the “22 forever” decal on their helmets.
Utah announced their uniform combination for the game against Colorado on Thanksgiving Day.
The Utes and Buffs will battle on Friday afternoon in the regular season finale.
Rather than the interlocking U on the side of the helmets, Utah will wear the “22 forever” decal that they have sported ever since Aaron Lowe was tragically lost on September 26.

Jordan passed away from a gunshot wound in December 2020.
Lowe was the first recipient of the Ty Jordan Memorial Scholarship and switched his number from 2 to 22 during the offseason to honor the life of his childhood friend. He signed with Utah in 2019 as a three-star recruit out of West Mesquite High School. He played in 11 games on special teams as a freshman. During the COVID-19 shortened season, Lowe played in all five games on special teams in 2020.
Jordan tragically died on Christmas night in Denton, Texas near his hometown to an accidental self-inflicted gun shot wound. In his freshman season with the Utes, Jordan rushed for 597 yards and six touchdowns. He was named Pac-12 Offensive Freshman of the Year and a Freshman All-American by 247Sports.
Utah and Colorado will kickoff at 2 p.m. MT on FOX.
