SALT LAKE CITY – The Sacramento Kings haven’t been to the postseason since 2006, but with the frequency in which the Utah Jazz have seen them, it’s starting to feel like a best of seven series.

On Saturday, the Jazz will face the Kings for the third time in the first 16 games of the season having swept to teams’ first two meetings.

The Jazz are coming back-to-back wins to cap a five-game homestand while the Kings have lost five of their last six games.

Gay Shines In Jazz Debut

Rudy Gay made his long-awaited debut for the Jazz in their 119-103 win over the Toronto Raptors on Thursday and gave fans plenty to cheer about.

The veteran forward scored 20 points on 7-8 shooting, including 5-6 from the three-point line in just 18 minutes on the floor.

Gay had missed the first 14 games of the season after undergoing offseason surgery on his right heel to remove bone spurs before signing a three-year, $18 million deal with the Jazz.

With Gay’s ability to stretch the floor, the Jazz knocked down a season-high 19 threes to down the Raptors and shot better than 40 percent from the three-point line in consecutive games for the first time this season.

Kings On Cold Streak

After starting the season with a 5-4 record, the Kings have hit a recent rough stretch having lost five of their last six entering Friday night, with their lone win coming against the 4-10 Detroit Pistons.

The Kings will return home after a four-game home stretch to face the Raptors on Friday after losses to the San Antonio Spurs, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Minnesota Timberwolves, none of whom have a winning record on the season.

Over the stretch, the Kings have the 17th ranked offense in the NBA and the 19th ranked defense, but have managed just one win over the last two weeks.

Sacramento has struggled at home this season, having lost four of their six games at Golden 1 Center, including their home opener to the Jazz on October 22.

Jazz And Kings Previous Meetings

The Jazz will look to move to 3-0 against Sacramento on Saturday after sweeping the first two games of the season series.

In their first meeting, the Jazz got 27 points from Donovan Mitchell and a 17 point, 20 rebound double-double from Rudy Gobert to overcome 25 points from Kings forward Harrison Barnes.

The Jazz returned to Utah where they knocked off the Kings on 119-113 behind a combined 66 points from Mitchell and Mike Conley to outlast Barnes’s 23.

Broadcast

The Jazz and Kings will tip-off at 8 pm MT and can be heard on 97.5 and 1280 The Zone or streamed at kslsports.com. The game will be televised on AT&T SportsNet and FuboTV.
