PROVO, Utah — Tyler Allgeier continues to dominate the competition as he hits 1000 rushing yards on the season. Allgeier became the first BYU running back with back-to-back 1000 yard seasons since current running backs coach Harvey Unga. Allgeier has 100 yards rushing in back-to-back games this season, after rushing for 191 yards last week.
With that rush, Tyler Allgeier is over 1000 rushing yards on the season. Allgeier is the first #BYU running back with back-to-back 1000 yard seasons since Harvey Unga (2007-2009). #BYUFootball #UVAvsBYU

Tyler Allgeier reaches 1,000 yards for second consecutive year

Allgeier is also on pace to break the single-season records for rushing attempts.
Allgeier now over 1,000 rushing yards this year (1,029) giving him his second 1,000-yard season. He is the 5th BYU player to have multiple 1,000-yard seasons #BYUFootball

Harvey Unga reached the 1000 yard mark in three straight seasons from 2007 to 2009. Unga has helped develop Allgeier into one of the nation’s best running backs as BYU’s running backs coach.
It’s been yet another special season for Tyler Allgeier, with more games to come. If he chooses to return to BYU next season, he could put himself up there among BYU’s greatest running backs.
