BYU versus Virginia will kickoff at 8:15 p.m. (MT) and will be televised on ESPN2.
The late-night kick time ends a string of afternoon kickoffs for BYU. Both of BYU’s day games this season have resulted in losses (Boise State, at Baylor). The Cougars have been a perfect 5-0 in games played at 7 p.m. (MT) or later this season.
This will be the sixth meeting all-time against the Virginia Cavaliers, and the first of a three-game series with the Hoos. Virginia leads the series 3-2 with the last meeting coming in 2014 when Bronco Mendenhall was on the BYU sideline. BYU won that game 41-33 in Provo.
Bronco Mendenhall won 99 games during his time as head coach at BYU. He’s the second-winningest coach in program history. Behind only legendary head coach LaVell Edwards (257).
Virginia is 5-2 on the season after reeling off three consecutive wins over ACC foes Miami, Louisville, and Duke. BYU is also 5-2 after back-to-back losses against Boise State and Baylor in consecutive weeks.
