No. 22 Stansbury Claims Region 7 Title With Blowout Win Over No. 24 Timpanogos

STANSBURY, Utah – The 22nd ranked Stansbury Stallions claimed the Region 7 title with a 49-14 blowout win over No. 24 Timpanogos on Game Night Live.
For Stansbury, Ezra Harris led the way with four total touchdowns, three rushing and one passing, connecting with Dreyton Rowley. Nate Bushnell added a rushing TD.
Matu Holdaway threw a touchdown pass to Matthew Torgersen for the Timberwolves.
Stansbury is the Region 7 champions.

The first drive of the night for Stansbury resulted in a touchdown run by Ezra Harris inside the red zone to give them a 7-0 lead with 8:23 remaining in the first quarter. Timpanogos answered with a touchdown pass from Matu Holdaway to Matthew Torgersen to tie the game at seven with 6:40 left in the first.
The Stallions responded with a 77-yard touchdown as Harris threw a deep ball to Dreyton Rowley and Stansbury took a 14-7 lead with 5:42 left in the opening period. On fourth and one to go for Timpanogos, Holdaway threw a deep ball and it was complete and a turnover on downs.
Stansbury was able to get down the field and approached the goal line when Harris pitched it to Nate Bushnell for a touchdown. That gave the Stallions a 21-7 advantage with five seconds to play in the first quarter. They converted on third down with 30 yards to go on that drive.
The Stallions were trying to put away the Timberwolves early when Harris scored again on the ground on a QB keeper to make it 28-7 with 7:23 left until halftime. As Timpanogos tried to get back into the game, Holdaway threw an interception that set the Stallions up in their own territory but on the first play of the drive when Harris threw a ball to Brock Wilson that put Stansbury in Timberwolves territory. The drive ended with Ezra Harris’ third rushing touchdown to put them up 35-7 with 3:30 until halftime.
Timpanogos had the ball at the one-yard line. Holdaway tried to run it in and fumbled the ball. Easton Baker returned it 99-yards for a touchdown. Stansbury took a 42-7 with 1:20 left until halftime.
Just before halftime, Timpanogos’ backup QB threw an interception in the end zone.
The Stallions went down the field to start the second half and ended the drive with a touchdown run by backup QB Bridger Thomas to give them a 49-7 lead with 7:15 left in the third. The Timberwolves finally stopped the big run by Stansbury with a touchdown pass from Chase Riggs to Easton Bretzing to cut the lead to 49-14 with 8:18 left in the game.
Stansbury ends the regular season with an 8-2 record.
Timpanogos dropped their record to 8-2 on the season.
Both teams will find out who they will face in the playoffs when the seeding is announced on Saturday morning.
