PROVO, Utah – BYU football continues to find success on the recruiting trail. On Tuesday, the latest victory came when rising Timpview High prospect Hezekiah Anahu-Ambrosio announced his commitment to the Cougars.

“Kiah” Anahu-Ambrosio, a recruit in the class of 2023, made the commitment on his birthday writing on Twitter, “I am excited to say I am fully committed to THE Brigham Young University (emojis) Go cougs!!”

Anahu-Ambrosio is a 5-foot-11, 205-pound safety/linebacker/running back at Timpview. After growing up in Hawaii -where he prepped at Konawaena High School- he and his family moved to Utah.

Kiah has been one of the top players for the 7-2 T-Birds this season. He’s recorded 70 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, and seven sacks this season. Along with thriving on the defensive side, Anahu-Ambrosio has also taken reps at running back, where he has rushed for 108 yards on 16 carries and a touchdown this season.

Timpview’s official football team Twitter account replied to Anahu-Ambrosio’s commitment, “BYU fans get ready [sic] you guys just got a STEAL!”

Hezekiah Anahu-Ambrosio has a younger brother who BYU has offered

BYU offered Anahu-Ambrosio this past summer along with his younger brother, Zedekiah Anahu-Ambrosio. Zedekiah is a class of 2025 wide receiver who has appeared in one varsity game this season against Lone Peak to open the year. He caught two passes for 35 yards in that matchup.

Kiah is the second commit in BYU’s 2023 recruiting class. The other is fellow Timpview High teammate Pokaiaua Haunga. Both players were on an unofficial visit to BYU’s victory over rival Utah back on September 11 at LaVell Edwards Stadium.

Over the weekend, BYU picked up a commitment from former Utah commit Aisea Moa out of Weber High. Moa is a four-star in the class of 2022. The Cougars also landed four-star Corner Canyon wide receiver Cody Hagen.
