Iloski, Davis, Halsey, and Dewsnup have spent the majority of this season with the Monarchs. Iloski and Davis have spent time with the first team, but have only managed to appear on the bench for Pablo Mastroeni.
Real Salt Lake confirmed the decision to relegate a number of first-team players was due to match fitness.
Currently, Real Salt Lake does not play another regular-season game until October 16th when they host Colorado Rapids. The break in the season is due to another round of World Cup Qualifying matches.
Moreover, Wood, MacMath, Brody, Morgan, and Portillo have not been getting consistent minutes at the first-team level. Wood and Brody were both playing a significant role with the first team until they were both struck down with injuries.
