SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Jazz open their season on October 20, just 18 days from today. With the clock ticking, we look at 50 things for Jazz fans to be excited about leading up to the 2021-22 NBA season. Coming in at number 18, today’s Zoom practice.
Jazz Zoom Practice
The Jazz will host a live practice broadcast over Zoom for 50,000 fans today beginning at noon. Fans wanting to stream the game can do so at this link.

The event will the first opportunity for Jazz fans to see the new team, though a few faces from training camp will be missing.
On Thursday, the team announced that new forward Rudy Gay would miss the entire preseason as he recovers from offseason surgery to remove bone spurs from his left heel.

Gay played in 63 of the San Antonio Spurs’ 72 games last season, including 10 of the final 11 while averaging nearly 21 minutes per game before signing with the Jazz.
The Jazz may also be without the services of Bojan Bogdanovic who has yet to go through a full-contact practice with the team as he deals with minor preseason shoulder sorness.
In a surprise move Friday the team announced that they had waived forward Justin James. The third-year veteran had signed a two-way contract with the Jazz in late September but was waived just one day after the team returned from training camp in Las Vegas.

That leaves the Jazz with 17 healthy bodies ahead of today’s scrimmage, including new faces Eric Paschall, Hassan Whiteside, and Jared Butler who all joined the team during the offseason.
“The webinar will be much more than just interacting with the on-air talent and watching head coach Quin Snyder and his team,” the team announced in a release. “There will also be segments focused on the redesign of the practice facility at the Zions Bank Basketball Campus, live interviews, guest commentary and pre-recorded features to give every Jazz fan something to be engaged with.”
With fans anxious to catch a first glimpse at the new team, the Jazz Zoom practice is certainly one of the top 50 storylines to watch heading into opening night.
