DRAPER, Utah – BYU football picked up a commitment from four-star wide receiver Cody Hagen out of Corner Canyon High School.

Hagen picked BYU over the likes of Stanford, USC, Utah, and Michigan. At 6-foot-1, 175-pounds, Hagen is one of the top recruits in the state of Utah for the class of 2022.

“I want to thank all my coaches, family, trainers, and especially the BYU staff for believing in me before anyone else. With that being said… I am 100% Committed!! #GoCougs”

Hagen is rated as the sixth best prospect in the state by 247Sports Composite recruiting rankings.

Landing Hagen is a massive addition to BYU’s recruiting class. BYU coaches were tweeting out the now-famous eyeball emojis late last night. Along with Aaron Roderick tweeting his patented Bill Murray gif after receiving a commitment.

Hagen has produced big numbers at national powerhouse Corner Canyon. He hasn’t experienced a defeat during his prep career with the Chargers. Since 2019, Hagen has totaled 156 catches for 3,029 yards and 36 touchdown grabs.

To go with his production, Hagen has experienced a lot of success in track and field. Back in May, Hagen ran the fastest 100-meter time among athletes from the state of Utah with a 10.52 100-meter dash.

Hagen is now the 16th commit in BYU’s 2022 recruiting class. The second commitment since the Cougars announced they would be moving to the Big 12 Conference.

When Hagen begins his BYU football career, it will take place in the Big 12. Hagen plans to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints before enrolling in Provo.

Since Hagen’s commitment took place on Thursday, it’s led to other high-profile recruits taking notice of what BYU is doing on the recruiting trail. For example, former Utah football commit Aise Moa from Weber High tweeted, “OH YEAA?”

Skyridge offensive lineman Tapuvae “Snoop” Amaama wrote, “Something special going on in Provo tho what’s good?”

With the addition of Hagen, BYU’s 2022 recruiting class jumped to No. 66 in the 247Sports Team Rankings.
