Jamaal Williams Shows Love To Kalani Sitake, BYU During ‘Jamaal That’ Episode

PROVO, Utah – Former BYU football great, current Detroit Lion Jamaal Williams is one of the most entertaining individuals in the NFL. If you need evidence of that statement, watch Williams in action during his Detroit Lions produced “Jamaal That” show.

Last week, Williams began “Jamaal That” with a hilarious episode that featured his love for Anime and him vibing to his new theme song. During episode two, Williams gave some love to his alma mater BYU and head coach Kalani Sitake.

“Can I give a shoutout real quick? Shoutout to my boys at BYU. They doin’ their thang,” said Williams.

Then Williams unzipped his jacket, that’s a cosplay outfit for Pain from Naruto, where he revealed a t-shirt featuring Kalani Sitake on the front.

“This my boy, Coach Sitake. That boy ready to go. He still looks like that right now, just to let you know.”

The shirt features a picture of Kalani Sitake from his senior year back in 2000. You can tell it’s from the senior season with the mustache that Sitake is sporting in the picture. That was a theme for players on that 2000 team, the final squad in the LaVell Edwards era.

The shirt was designed by Williams’ good friend and former teammate Squally Canada. Canada had them available on his website.

Jamaal Williams and Sitake formed a strong relationship in one year together

Williams played for Sitake during his senior season in 2016. After missing the entire 2015 campaign, Sitake wanted Williams back at BYU and the two formed a strong bond in their one season together.

“I think Kalani, I think he got me when he first came in. He was totally like; I ain’t your bishop, I ain’t none of that, I’m your football coach. I low-key wanted to stand up and clap, you know what I mean? I think I already like this dude already, you know what I mean? He came in and he said what he was going to do,” Williams on what Sitake meant to him after a win in the 2016 Poinsettia Bowl. “He walked the walk and talked the talk and he put in so many things at BYU that we never knew could happen and he’s always fighting for us to get new things and he always wanted nothing but the best for us.”

Williams finished his BYU career with a school-best 3,901 rushing yards in his four years at BYU.

BYU is currently 4-0 and ranked No. 13 in the AP Top 25 poll. The Cougars return to action on Friday night when they play Utah State in Logan in the Battle for the Old Wagon Wheel.
