LOGAN, Utah – Utah State quarterback Logan Bonner tossed four touchdown passes to lead the Aggies in a comeback victory over the North Dakota Fighting Hawks.

The Aggies hosted the Fighting Hawks at Maverik Stadium on Friday, September 10.

After trailing 21-7 following the first 15 minutes of action, the Aggies controlled the remainder of the contest and came back to win the ball game.

Utah State beat North Dakota, 48-24.

The Aggies were slated to kickoff around 7 p.m. (MDT) but were forced to stay in the locker room for more than an hour due to a weather delay.

After the game kicked off around 8:20 p.m., the Fighting Hawks made the most of their first three drives.

North Dakota scored a touchdown on the opening drive of the contest.

Utah State responded with a 54-yard touchdown pass from Bonner to Brandon Bowling on the Aggies’ first offensive possession to make it a 7-7 game.

The Fighting Hawks added to their total with two more touchdowns in the first quarter.

USU kicker Connor Coles connected on a pair of field goals in the second quarter before Bonner tossed a touchdown pass to Derek Wright. Bonner’s pass to Wright cut North Dakota’s lead to 21-20.

The Fighting Hawks began the third quarter with a field goal to stretch their lead to 24-20.

Utah State’s defense locked in and North Dakota was done scoring for the rest of the night.

The Aggies went on to score 28 unanswered points over the final 24 minutes of the game.

Bonner threw a 75-yard touchdown pass to Deven Thompkins to give USU its first lead with 9:52 left in the third quarter.

During the final 10 minutes of the game, Utah State added three more touchdowns, including scores by Calvin Tyler Jr., Bonner, Wright, and Andrew Peasley.

Bonner finished the game 20/32 passing for 315 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception.

Tyler Jr. ran the ball 14 times for 72 yards and a touchdown.

Bowling led USU with six catches for 118 yards and a touchdown.

Wright finished with four catches for 73 yards and two scores.

With the win, the Aggies improved to a 2-0 record this season. North Dakota fell to 1-1 this year.
