No. 2 Skyridge Defeats No. 5 Timpview In Overtime Thriller

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The second ranked Skyridge Falcons avoided the upset at home as they knocked off No. 5 Timpview 21-14 in overtime.
Skyridge scored first before Timpview put up two unanswered touchdowns and had a 14-7 lead in the fourth quarter. Jeter Fenton ran in the game-tying touchdown and McCae Hillstead ran in the game-winning TD to give the Falcons in the win in overtime.
Here are all of the results in the 6A classification from the fifth week of the high school football season.
Region 1
Clearfield 7 @ Farmington 42
Kenyon Brown had four touchdowns, three rushing and one receiving. Boston Reinhold added two rushing TD’s for the Phoenix as they pick up their second straight win of the season.
No. 8 Fremont 21 @ Layton 24
The Lancers protected home field and pulled off an upset. Fremont had a 21-17 lead with 1:34 left in the game when Elias West ran in the go-ahead touchdown. Garrett Gifford threw two touchdowns, one to Nicolas Sanders and Tyler Wensel. Fremont got a kick return for a touchdown by Kyler Kotter and a rushing TD. Cannon Kofford threw one TD to Hayden Hall.
No. 9 Weber 34 @ No. 12 Syracuse 32
It was a thrilling finish for Weber as they scored the game-winning field goal as time expired to get the big road win in region play. Logan Payne had two rushing TD’s as did Jake Lindsay. Jake Metcalfe, Chandler Christensen, Jake Hopkins and Tyson Stapley all had rushing touchdowns for the Titans.
Region 2
Hunter 35 @ Granger 14
Hunter picked up their first win of the season behind four touchdowns from Omarian Jackson, two passing and two rushing. Kenyon Paea added a rushing TD for the Wolverines.
Taylorsville 13 @ Cyprus 45
The Pirates won their first game of 2021 after scoring 28 points in the first quarter. Julius Tikoisuva had two rushing touchdowns to lead Cyprus to victory. Skyler Armenta threw for two touchdowns and ran in another score.
No. 20 Roy 8 @ No. 15 West 19
The Panthers jumped out to a 19-0 lead before Roy scored in the fourth quarter to avoid the shutout. Isaiah SueSue ran in two touchdowns, while Lava Vailahi added one TD on the ground.
Non-Region
Herriman 30 @ No. 22 Kearns 37
Kearns held a 37-10 lead heading into the fourth quarter. Herriman made things interesting with 20 points in the fourth quarter but came up short of the massive comeback. Iosefa Toia’ivao threw for two touchdowns and ran in another. Both passing TD’s were to Kapeli Smith. Dominic Thornton and Omar Polanco each had a pick-six. For Herriman, Jack White threw two touchdowns and ran in two more on the ground.
No. 7 Bingham 13 @ No. 4 American Fork 41
The Cavemen had a 13-6 halftime lead but took over with 28 points in the second half and held the Miners to just seven points. Maddux Madsen threw for five touchdowns, connecting with Fisher Ingersoll and Noah Moeaki twice each, and one to Trey Roberts.
Riverton 37 @ Pleasant Grove 21
The game was close in the first half with Riverton holding a 16-14 lead. The Silverwolves outscored the Vikings 21-7 in the second half. Sau Tafisi ran in three touchdowns. Codee Walton added one rushing TD for Riverton.
Westlake 7 @ No. 13 Mountain Ridge 14
Mountain Ridge remained undefeated on the season with a win at home. Semisi Kinikini ran in an 88-yard touchdown in the first quarter. Westlake answered in the third quarter with a rushing TD from Kanyon Lee. Cade Uluave scored the game-winning TD with 1:31 left in the game.
