SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Jazz open their season on October 20, just 38 days from today. With the clock ticking, we look at 50 things for Jazz fans to be excited about leading up to the 2021-22 NBA season. Coming in at number 38, the Jazz players interactions on social media.

Jazz Players Social Media Interaction

While the COVID-19 pandemic has seriously restricted the media’s availability to interact with NBA players on a face-to-face basis, limiting the amount of human interaction that is conveyed to the fans, social media has shed new light on players across the league, including the Jazz.

Whereas the personalities of players were usually only on display on the court and in short quotes in the newspaper, social media has helped pull back the curtain on fans’ favorite players.

Some of the best interactions online come from the players talking to each other, sometimes joking, sometimes trash-talking, giving fans a real view of how their favorite team operates off the court.

The Jazz players provide some of the better social content on their Instagram and Twitter feeds, often interacting with one another before and after workouts, or joking together on road trips.

Recently, Joe Ingles who never misses a chance to rib his teammates teased Jordan Clarkson for tripping during one of his highlight-reel plays early in the season.

Another video that recently made its way from Donovan Mitchell’s Instagram story to Twitter featured the Jazz star trying to coax new teammate Eric Paschall into a cold tub after a workout in Miami.

Jazz forward Royce O’Neale offers Paschall $100 while second-year guard Trent Forrest offers to climb in.

The video can be found in this link, but user warning, it contains language that may not be suitable for all viewers.

Not all of the tweets are so friendly, however. One of most famous Jazz Twitter interactions featured Rudy Gobert sending a not-so-coded message about the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics while calling the Jazz future champions.

Then Celtics guard Isaiah Thomas responded nothing the Heat have three NBA titles and the Celtics have 17 before deleting the shot at Gobert.

With the players returning to Salt Lake City in the coming weeks, fans can expect more social media interactions between the teammates as they head to the Zions Bank Basketball Campus. Those playful responses come in at number 38 in our 50 storylines to watch as we countdown to opening night.
