RSL Legend Kyle Beckerman Wins Coaching Debut As UVU Men’s Soccer Beats Niagara

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Former Real Salt Lake great Kyle Beckerman won his coaching debut as the Utah Valley men’s soccer team defeated the Niagara Purple Eagles.
Niagara hosted UVU in Niagara Falls, New York on Sunday, August 29.
Beckerman coached the Wolverines to a 2-1 victory.

“I’m just so happy for the boys. They put in a lot of work and stayed mentally tough, especially with the weather delay,” Beckerman said after the win. “Everybody contributed and it was a really solid outing for us. This was a team that showed us a different look and we responded. Now we get back to work for the next one and see if we can improve.”
Beckerman was hired as the Wolverines’ head coach in April.

Evans Armah and Zahir Vazquez scored Utah Valley’s pair of goals.

UVU finished the match with 13 shots, including eight shots on goal. The Purple Eagles ended with eight shots, including four on target.
The Wolverines’ next match is against the CSUN Matadors on Thursday, September 2 at 7:30 p.m. (MDT). The game will broadcast on ESPN+.
