SANDY, Utah – Real Salt Lake will hit the road after a successful two-game homestand to face rival Colorado Rapids in the second leg of the Rocky Mountain Cup.
RSL is coming off of a 2-1 win midweek over the Houston Dynamo as Anderson Julio scored the game-winning goal in the final moments of the match at Rio Tinto Stadium. They also knocked off expansion side Austin FC 1-0 on August 14 at the RioT.
Real Salt Lake hasn’t been playing their best soccer but they have been posting results and closing out teams in the second half. Earlier this season, RSL was picking up leads at the halftime break before either settling for a draw or a loss in the second half of matches.
Currently, RSL sits in fifth place in the Western Conference table with 27 points and a 7-6-6 record.
Coming for what's ours.

About Colorado
This is a big game for RSL because the Rapids sit one spot ahead of them in the Western Conference table with 34 points and a 10-4-4 record. They are 5-1-3 at home. RSL won’t be able to leap over Colorado with a win on Saturday but they will gain some ground and pull within four points with a win.
The Rapids have been rolling over their last four games as they started that run with a 1-0 win over Austin FC, followed by a 0-0 draw with Sporting Kansas City. They beat the Houston Dynamo 3-1 on August 14 and are coming off of a 2-1 victory over the LA Galaxy in their last game. Colorado’s last loss was before that stretch when they lost to RSL 3-0 at Rio Tinto Stadium on July 24.
The match between Colorado and RSL will take place on Saturday, August 21 at Dick Sporting Goods Park and will begin at 7 p.m. MT and will be streamed on KSLSports.com, the KSL TV app or the KSL Sports app.
