Local Players Named To 2021 Polynesian College Football Player Of The Year Award Watch List

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Polynesian Football Hall of Fame named multiple local players to its watch list for the 2021 Polynesian College Football Player Of The Year Award.

The organization announced the candidates on Thursday, August 19.

The Polynesian College Football Player Of The Year Award is given annually to the “most outstanding college football player of Polynesian ancestry that epitomizes great ability and integrity.”

Last season, BYU quarterback Zach Wilson was a co-winner of the honor.

“The participation, prestige and excellence of Polynesian players continues to grow in college football,” said Jesse Sapolu, Polynesian Football Hall of Fame Chairman, Co-Founder and Inductee. “This award allows us to showcase the very best in our community.”

This season’s watch list for the award features 63 players from 31 FBS programs, including players from BYU, Utah, Utah State, and local high schools.
