SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Patrick Fishburn is the only local left in the field at the Utah Championship after a treacherous second day got the better of the local field.
Fishburn enters the weekend in a tie for 57th, barely scraping ahead of the cut line and securing a weekend spot at his home tournament. His round consisted of five birdies and three bogeys.
Daniel Summerhays and Rhett Rasmussen were not as fortunate, however, as they sit stranded in a tie for 103rd after carding scores of one-over-par and two-under-par, respectively.

Summerhays never found his groove throughout Friday’s round after putting himself in a good position following the first round. Sadly, the lack of golf as of late came back to bite Summerhays who will pack his bags and digest everything that transpired throughout a frustrating second round. Two bogeys and a birdie was the extend of his opening nine holes before nine consecutive pars rounded out his second round.
Furthermore, Rhett Rasmussen performed better on Friday than he did on Thursday. After posting an ever-round opening card, Rasmussen responded with a two-under-par second round but his efforts were not good enough as he also will pack his bags wondering what could have been. Rasmussen got off to a flying start with three birdies and no bogeys on the front nine, but two bogeys and just one birdie on the back hindered his second and subsequently final round at the Utah Championship.
Fishburn, despite making the cut, sits a long way back from the leaders who sit eight shots ahead of Fishburn’s five-under-par total.

Fishburn will need to find his groove throughout the weekend and could do with a nine-under-par round himself to quickly solidify himself in contention.
The Utah Championship is being held at Oakridge Country Club in Farmington, Utah. It is the fifth consecutive year that Oakridge has hosted the event.
