SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah Jazz players and ownership were among the many who took to social media to congratulate the Milwaukee Bucks on their championship run.

After losing the first two games of the series, the Bucks stormed back against the Phoenix Suns, clinching the title with a narrow 105-98 victory in game six.

“So happy for Giannis and Milwaukee man,” Rudy Gobert tweeted. “Amazing to see what happens when you put your heart and your soul into something and stay genuine and true to yourself. Inspirational.”

Gobert and Giannis Antetokounmpo were a part of the same 2013 draft class and were considered high-risk, high reward prospects. The two have gone on to combine for two MVPs, four Defensive Player of the Year awards, seven All-Star appearances, nine All-NBA teams, nine All-Defensive teams, and now, one title.

“So many underdogs got a ring last night,” Jazz second-year forward Jarrell Brantley tweeted. “It’s possible”

“Congrats @Bucks & the City of Milwaukee,” Jazz owner Ryan Smith tweeted. “Special moment for sure.”

Smith wasn’t the only Jazz owner to congratulate the Bucks. Mike Cannon-Brookes who resides in Australia and became a part-owner of the team last year also took to Twitter to extend his well wishes.

🏆👏🏻 to @Giannis_An34 & the @Bucks,” Cannon-Brookes tweeted. “A great year, a fantastic series and a truly historic performance today. Leading from the front. They’ll write about this one for years. What a life arc. Incredible.”

Future hall of famer Dwyane Wade who joined the Jazz ownership group in April sent his congratulations to the Bucks after their win.

“Legendary 🏆,” Wade tweeted. Congrats to @Giannis_An34 and the @Bucks.”

Finally, Jordan Clarkson shared his appreciation for Bucks forward Bobby Portis who was one of the unspoken heroes of Milwaukee’s title run.

Portis scored 16 points and grabbed three rebounds in 22 minutes to seal the victory for the Bucks.

“Congrats @BPortistime !!!” Clarkson said. “Well deserved brother!!! Live it up man!”

The Jazz now turn their hopes towards winning a title next season, beginning with the NBA draft next Thursday, followed by free agency.
