Tied With Canada
The victory keeps the U.S. unbeaten through two games at the Gold Cup. The win also solidifies qualification to the knockout round, however, one more Group stage match remains as the U.S. will take on Canada on Sunday, July 18, at 3 p.m.
Canada currently sits atop Group B on goal goals scored, Canada has scored eight goals through two games while the U.S. has scored seven, Canada has conceded two goals while the U.S. has only conceded one. Both teams are tied with six points and plus six goal differential.
USMNT manager Gregg Berhalter has opted for an entirely Major League Soccer roster. Sadly, no player from Real Salt Lake received the call-up.
The importance of Sunday’s contest against Canada does not exist. Regardless of the outcome, the U.S. will qualify for the second round after victories over Haiti and Martinique.
