Finau’s Rich History At The Open
Finau’s history at The Open is rich. His worst finish is a tie for 27th while his best finish is lone third in 2019. His lone third finish in 2019 still stands as his best finish at any major tournament.
Royal St. George’s is a golf course that suits Finau’s game, much like the majority of links golf courses do. His ability to drive the golf ball long and accurately gives him an advantage on the field. His touch around undulated and fast greens is superb.

If Finau can find the form needed with his putter, then undoubtedly he will be contending late on Sunday at Royal St. George’s.
The concern for Finau entering the tournament is his lack of form. His past two previous PGA Tour starts have resulted in missed cuts.
However, Finau has opted to take two weeks off of PGA Tour responsibilities ahead of The Open this year. He decided to spend time with his family, work closely alongside his swing coach Boyd Summerhays, and dial in his game for one of the greatest tests within the golfing space.
