SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah football coaching staff is taking some time off before the season so defensive coordinator Morgan Scalley took his family to Disneyland.

When you are in the rivalry for as long as Morgan Scalley, it is still a competition even when you are on vacation at Disneyland.

Scalley tracked the results on Twitter of how many Utah and BYU fans that he saw while enjoying the world’s happiest place.

He started at 8:30 a.m. MT.

“Disneyland fan duel 2021 edition!! Let’s Go!!!!” Scalley tweeted.

Nearly 90 minutes later, Utah had a slim 7-5 lead over the Cougars.

“Utes with the early lead. 7 to 5 over the Cougs!!”

Scalley updated the score just over a half an hour later after running into the Bennion family.

“Update: After running into the Bennion Family, the tally is now Utes 18, Cougs 7.”

The first half came to a close with BYU making a run.

“Halftime and the Cougs have come on strong. Utes 21, Cougs 15.”

Utah fans made another run two and a half hours later.

“Ute Fans stepping it up!! Utes 29, Cougs 19.”

Scalley and his family had a photo opportunity on a ride with his family and flashed the U for #FlashTheUFriday.

Scalley went on to take photos with fans that he saw throughout Disneyland.

“Utes taking control of this one!! 39 to 23!!”

The lead for Utah grew after Scalley took a photo with the Jensen family.

“And the Utes are running away with it!! The Jensen Family adds to the lead!!”

After more than 12 hours at Disneyland, Scalley concluded the competition and gave the win to the Utes. He even posted a photo of Mickey Mouse flashing the U.

“And that’s a wrap!! Utes 51, Cougs 28,” Scalley tweeted. “Disney dominance at its finest!! Great meeting so many awesome Utes!! Until next year. Next stop, Fall Camp. Are you ready for some football? Can’t wait for a packed house on Sept. 2!!”

Utah opens the 2021 season at Rice-Eccles Stadium on Thursday, September 2 against Weber State. They will travel to Provo to battle BYU at LaVell Edwards Stadium on Saturday, September 11.
