NBA Unveils 75th Anniversary Logo For 2021-22 Season

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The National Basketball Association unveiled a commemorative logo for the league’s 75th anniversary season.

The new diamond shaped logo was shared by the NBA on Wednesday, July 7.

“The commemorative NBA 75th Anniversary Season logo will appear throughout the 2021-22 season on courts and official NBA merchandise, inside arenas and in original broadcast, digital and social media content,” the league posted on Twitter alongside a photo of the special logo.

The anniversary logo still features the silhouette of NBA legend Jerry West and the traditional colors of red and blue. West’s outline first debuted on the league’s logo in 1971. The NBA tweaked its logo in 2017 but the general look remained unchanged.

The NBA was created as the Basketball Association of America in New York City on June 6, 1946.

By comparison, the 75th anniversary logo has a cleaner and more creative design than the NBA’s 50th anniversary logo from 25 years ago.

The league is currently in the middle of determining its champion for the 2020-21 season. This season’s NBA Finals features the Phoenix Suns and the Milwaukee Bucks.

The 2021-22 season is set to begin in October.
