Former Timpview, Utah LB Pita Taumoepenu Signs With Denver Broncos

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Former Timpview High and Utah Utes linebacker Pita Taumoepenu signed a free agent deal with the NFL’s Denver Broncos.
The Broncos announced the addition of Taumoepenu on Monday, May 17.
Denver is Taumoepenu’s fifth NFL team.
He last played for the Atlanta Falcons in 2020.

About Pita Taumoepenu
Taumoepenu, a native of Provo, Utah, played high school football at Timpview High School.
He was rated as a two-star prospect in the class of 2013 by 247Sports.
After his high school career, Taumoepenu played college football at the University of Utah.
He played for the Utes from 2014-16.

During his college career, the linebacker recorded 73 total tackles, 50 solo tackles, 25.5 tackles for loss, 21.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 46 games.
Following his time with Utah, Taumoepenu was selected by the San Francisco 49ers during the sixth round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

He played for the Niners from 2017-19.
After his time with San Francisco, Taumoepenu was a member of the Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks before joining the Falcons last season.

He has recorded five total tackles in five career NFL games.
