The Cougars bats came alive last week, and Pintar was a big part of that. BYU went 3-1 in their four games a week ago. Pintar, in 21 at-bats, had 10 hits, including three home runs, a double, and a triple.
On the season, Pintar, a sophomore from Spanish Fork, is leading the Cougars in batting average (.329). He also leads BYU in hits (52), runs (35), slugging percentage (.525), and on-base percentage (.434).
Pintar was one of nine players to receive the National Player of the Week honor from Collegiate Baseball Newspaper. The outlet gives a player of the week nod to one player at each position. Pintar was one of four players from a program outside of a power conference.
BYU baseball: Pitnar also named WCC Player of the Week
Along with receiving a National Player of the Week recognition, Pintar was also named WCC Player of the Week. For the second time in as many weeks, a BYU player has taken home the weekly conference recognition this month.
