Utah Jazz Rule Out Jordan Clarkson From Playing Against Blazers Due To Ankle Sprain

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Jazz announced that reserve guard Jordan Clarkson won’t play in Utah’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers because of a right ankle sprain.

Earlier in the day, the Jazz said that Clarkson was doubtful to play against the Blazers.
Less than two hours before tip-off, the team made the news official that Clarkson wouldn’t suit up for the Western Conference matchup.

The Blazers vs. Jazz game is Utah’s second contest in as many days.
One day earlier, Clarkson and the Jazz fell to the Phoenix Suns in an overtime thriller.

This season, Clarkson is the leading candidate to win the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year award.
The veteran guard is averaging 17.2 points per game on 42.2 percent shooting, including 34.9 percent on three-pointers.

Clarkson also averages 3.9 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 0.9 steals in 25.4 minutes a game.
He’s played in 51 games this season and has helped Utah to a league-best 38-13 record.
