Knell, BYU Torch Net On Three-Pointers During First Half Against Gonzaga

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Trevin Knell and the BYU Cougars cooked from beyond the arc during the opening 20 minutes of action of the West Coast Conference final against the Gonzaga Bulldogs.
The No. 2 seed Cougars and No. 1 Bulldogs played in the WCC final at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas on Tuesday, March 9.
During the first half, BYU connected on nine triples against the top ranked team in the country.
At the halftime break, BYU owned a 53-41 advantage.

The Cougars shot 67.7 percent overall and 69.2 percent from downtown.
BYU was led by four threes from Knell, who scored 15 points on 5-7 shooting in the half.

In addition to their great offensive start, the Cougars managed to hold the Bulldogs in check.
During the first 20 minutes, Gonzaga shot 48.3 percent from the field, including 50.0 percent from distance.
Joel Ayayi and Jalen Suggs led by Bulldogs with 11 points each.
