Joe Ingles Trolls Unsalvageable Reports About Gobert And Mitchell

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert were fined for their postgame comments about officials after Wednesday’s loss to the Philadelphia 76ers, and their Utah Jazz teammate Joe Ingles wasn’t about to miss an opportunity to make a joke about their unsalvageable relationship.
“Unsalvageable?” Ingles asked. “They even get fined together 
”
After Gobert became the first NBA player to test positive for COVID-19, Mitchell tested positive for the virus just hours later, leading Shams Charania of The Athletic to report that the relationship between the two stars “doesn’t seem salvageable.”

Now 12 months later, both players have signed long-term commitments with the Jazz, and have led the team to the best record in the NBA through the first half of the regular season.
Mitchell and Gobert were fined $25,000 and $20,000 respectively for their complaints aimed at the referees for a perceived lack of respect towards the small-market franchise.
Though both players were fined, the NBA did admit that the game officials missed six calls in the final two minutes of regulation and overtime which could have altered the outcome of the game

Mitchell knocked over a water jug on his way out of the arena after getting ejected during the final minute of the overtime loss.
After the game, the All-Star guard said he was tired of seeing his Jazz team go unrespected.
“It’s really getting out of hand,” Mitchell said of the NBA’s officiating. “It’s really, really, really getting out of hand. And the league needs to do something about this. I want to see the Last Two-Minute report, I want to see it, but this is getting out of hand.”
Gobert, Mitchell, and the unsalvageable Jazz currently sit at 27-9, atop the Western Conference, and 2.5 games ahead of the second-seeded Phoenix Suns.
