ESPN To Debut Gobert Documentary On Sunday

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – ESPN will debut their E:60 documentary “Man In The Middle: The Rudy Gobert Story” focusing on Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert and his positive COVID-19 test that led to the nationwide suspension of major professional sports.
In a trailer for the documentary, Gobert discusses the night of March 11 when the Jazz were in Oklahoma City preparing to face the Thunder.
“I was in my hotel room in Oklahoma City,” Gobert said. “Everything happened pretty fast.”
The trailer for the documentary then cycles through clips of how the night unfolded at Chesapeake Energy Arena where the Thunder and Jazz were set to play, before widespread announcements that sports across the country were being suspended.

Featuring clips from press conferences with Gobert, footage of his life growing up as an unknown basketball player in France, to a tour of his childhood home with the full-grown Jazz All-Star, the documentary tells the story of Gobert’s rise to fame and sudden fall from grace as the face for the COVID-19 pandemic.
The documentary even features conversations with fellow NBA players, including fellow countryman and Orlando Magic guard Evan Fournier who defends Gobert in the trailer.

“Man In The Middle: The Rudy Gobert Story” will debut on ESPN on Sunday at 9:30 am MT.
The Jazz center will then take part in the NBA All-Star Game on Sunday night. Gobert was selected as a reserve for the Western Conference and will be drafted by either LeBron James or Kevin Durant Thursday night to finalize the All-Star rosters.
