Jazz Guard Donovan Mitchell’s Second Effort Pays Off For Layup Against Miami Heat

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell made a layup thanks for a second effort during the first half of Utah’s game against the Miami Heat.

The Heat hosted the Jazz on Friday, February 26.

With 4:08 left in the second quarter, Mitchell pushed up a midrange shot that bounced off the rim.

The NBA All-Star bounced towards the hoop before collecting the ball and laying it off the glass for a make.

Mitchell’s second effort cut the Heat’s lead to 49-48.

At the halftime break, Miami owned a 57-53 advantage.

Mitchell scored a team-high 12 points in the first half on 6-11 field goals.

The Jazzman also recorded one rebound, two assists, and two steals during his first 17 minutes on the floor.

During the first half, Utah shot 40.8 percent overall and 29.2 percent on three-pointers.

The Jazz allowed the Heat to shoot 44.7 percent from the field and 41.2 percent on triples.

Miami had three players score in double figures during the opening 24 minutes of action.

Jimmy Butler led the Heat with 14 points.
