SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Major League Baseball legend Hank Aaron passed away Friday, according to his daughter.

The former right fielder known as “Hammerin’ Hank” was 86.

Aaron was born in Mobile, Alabama and played for multiple MLB teams from 1954-1976. He spent time with the Atlanta/Milwaukee Braves and the Milwaukee Brewers.

He appeared briefly in the Negro American League before starting his major league career. By his final MLB season, Aaron was the last Negro league baseball player on a major league roster.

For 33 years Aaron held the record for most career home runs and is ranked as the fifth-best player of all time by Sporting News.

He was inducted into the MLB Hall Of Fame in 1982.
