Provo’s Dallin Havea Joins Older Brother, Commits To BYU Football

PROVO, Utah – Provo High’s Dallin Havea forms another brotherly connection on the BYU football team. Havea joins older brother, Drason, a BYU signee in the class of 2020, by making his commitment official to the Cougars.
A three-star prospect, Havea reports offers from Air Force, Colorado State, Utah, and FCS programs.
Havea is now the 14th player to commit to BYU in the class of 2021.

Like Drason, the younger Havea plans to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints before enrolling at BYU. Drason is currently serving his mission in the Nuku’alofa Tonga mission. Dallin will leave for his mission after he graduates from Provo High.
When he returns from serving a mission for the Church, Havea could play running back or on the defensive side as a linebacker for the Cougars. An easy comparison for fans of the current BYU team would be a Kavika Fonua. Havea is a versatile athlete who could excel on both sides of the football, similar to Fonua has done throughout his BYU career.

His offers, including the one received from BYU, were for him to be at running back. BYU’s Kalani Sitake and Ilaisa Tuiaki have a close relationship with the Havea family. They were the first school to offer has the 6-foot-2, 205-pound prospect who was known for punishing his opponents during his career with the Bulldogs.

Havea has always viewed BYU as one of his top schools throughout the recruiting process.
The Early Signing Period for the class of 2021 begins on Wednesday, December 16. Havea is expected to sign during that early signing period.
