Utah Football: Best Pac-12 Era Uniform Combo Bracket

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah football has worn great uniform combinations in recent years. Their creativity and style is top-notch.

Since Utah joined the Pac-12 in 2011, they have worn 22 different uniform combinations with their helmets, jerseys and pants.

We need some help figuring out which uniform combination is the best.

The voting for each round will begin on Tuesdays. Here is the date and times of the voting for each round.

• First Round: Begins December 1 at 12 p.m. MST – Ends on December 8 at 12 p.m. MST
• Semifinals: Begins December 8 at 12:01 p.m. MST – Ends on December 15 at 12 p.m. MST
• Championship: Begins December 15 at 12:01 p.m. MST – Ends on December 22 at 12 p.m. MST

The Crimson Corner reached out to KSL Sports uniform expert Hema Heimuli Jr. to assist with putting the bracket together.

1. Interlocking U – White Helmet, Red Jersey, White Pants

Utah rolled out a different logo with their white helmets. The two U’s interlocked and had the red jerseys with white pants. The Utes sported this combination against USC in their 41-28 win at Rice-Eccles Stadium. They are 7-3 when wearing white helmets with red jerseys and white pants.

Hema’s Thoughts: White throwback helmet interlocking U uniforms are my favorite and a fan favorite. Utah got these right. I also predict that when the U retires the Drum and Feather, the interlocking U will be the main logo and these are the uni’s that started it all.

2. All Red – Red Helmet, Red Jersey, Red Pants

When Utah plays BYU every year, the Utes wear the all-red combination. It’s one of the best and memorable combos they have. They are 18-4 when wearing the all-red combination.

Hema’s Thoughts: This is Utah football. They are bold, they are aggressive, they are true to Utah’s identity and these have beat BYU for a decade straight.

3. 2019 Throwback Combination – Grey Helmet With Interlocking U, Red Jersey, Grey Pants

Utah rolled out a throwback uniform combination in 2019 and wore them twice. The debut of the combo was against UCLA in Utah’s 49-3 victory. They also sported the throwbacks on senior night in a 45-15 win over Colorado.

Hema’s Thoughts: The grey throwback interlocking U uni’s were fantastic. They were creative, they were very cool and reminds us of the best Utah football team probably ever.

4. All White Combination – White Helmet, White Jersey, White Pants

The fresh looking all-white combination started in 2013 as fans were blown away by the white helmets. The Utes are 6-5 in the all-white combination.

Hema’s Thoughts: All white drum and feather. Clean, classic and Utah beat up UW at their house in these.

5. Dark Mode – Black Helmet, Black Jersey, Black Pants

Utah took the Ute Proud game to a new level with the Ute Proud logo on their black helmets. The Utes wore this combination in their 35-0 shutout win over California in 2019. In the all-black uniform combination, Utah is 6-3

Hema’s Thoughts: DARK MODE. Enough said. Ute proud AND black?

6. Red-White-Red Combo – Red Helmet, White Jersey, Red Pants

The traditional red helmet with a white jersey and red pants gives the Utes a nice look especially on the road. When wearing this combo, the Utes are 2-1.

Hema’s Thoughts: The Red classic Drum & Feather helmets with the white top and red pants are in my opinion the best traditional look the Utes have. It’s contrast, clean and classic. It’s unfortunate that this combo reminds me of the Utes falling short of a title in their first Pac-12 championship appearance.

7. White-Red-Red Ute Proud Combo – White Helmet, Red Jersey, Red Pants

In Utah’s Ute Proud game in 2018, the team wore a different designed “Block U” helmet to reflect the occasion. When wearing white helmets, red jersey and pants, the Utes are 1-1.

Hema’s Thoughts: The White Ute proud helmets are so clean and look great against the all-red modern uni’s.

 8. Painted Drum And Feather Dark Mode – Black Helmet, Black Jersey, Black Pants

The drum and feather was hand-painted on the black helmets when the team wore their all-black combination in 2016 against USC. The helmets were a classic as was the game with Utah picking up a 31-27 win.

Hema’s Thoughts: The only way I could tolerate the Mountain sleeves was if they were all black. But this helmet, in my opinion, was the best of the hand painted helmets Utah has had (Burn the U hands helmets).
