SEATTLE, Wash. – Late Saturday night was as #Pac12AfterDark as it gets on a special teams play in the Washington game against Oregon State.

With 10 minutes left in the first quarter on fourth and six, the Huskies were set to punt the ball to Oregon State. The snap went high over the punter Race Porter’s head and had to run from their own 45-yard ling all the way back to their own 15-yard line. Once the punter picked up the ball, he turned and tried to punt the ball quickly when Beavers linebacker Hamilcar Rashed blocked it.
The ball traveled to the right side of the punter, a Washington player tried to recover the ball put it slipped out of his hands and kept bouncing towards the sideline. An Oregon State player pushed that Washington player out of the way. That’s when Jaydon Grant scooped the ball up at the 8-yard line and was able to get into the end zone for the first touchdown of the game.

After that wild play, Washington scored 17 unanswered before the Beavers found the end zone on offense. The Huskies beat Oregon State, 27-21 in their first game of the season. Their first game against Cal was canceled due to COVID-19.
