Another Pac-12 Game Canceled; Herm Edwards Reportedly Tests Positive For COVID-19

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Pac-12 Conference announced the cancelation of this weekend’s game between Arizona State and California.
According to the conference, the cancelation comes because Arizona State does that have enough scholarship players available for the game, similar to the situation Utah faced last week when their game against Arizona was canceled.

“The cancellation of this game is very disappointing to our student-athletes and our fans. At the same time it is further indication that our health and safety protocols are working in identifying positive cases and contact tracing cases. While all of us want to see our football student-athletes on the field competing, our number one priority must continue to be the health and safety of all those connected to Pac-12 football programs,” read a statement from the Pac-12.

The game was originally scheduled for Saturday, November 14 at 8:30 p.m. MT.
According to reports, Arizona State’s head coach Herm Edwards tested positive for the virus.

The Pac-12 schedule is set up for teams to play seven games in seven weeks, giving no chance for teams to make up canceled games.
So far, Utah’s game against UCLA is still on, although it was moved from Friday to Saturday in order for Utah to have more time to figure out their COVID-19 testing situation/results.
