DENVER, Colo. – Former BYU and current Kansas City Chiefs safety Daniel Sorensen recorded his third career pick six on Sunday against the Denver Broncos.

In the second quarter with under 9 minutes remaining, Broncos quarterback attempted the pass to tight end Noah Fant when Sorensen jumped the route, picked off the pass and returned it 50 yards for a touchdown.

The house call gave the Chiefs a 17-6 lead over their AFC West rivals in Week 7 of the 2020 NFL season. Drew Lock threw his first interception of the game, while Patrick Mahomes didn’t score a touchdown or throw a pick in the first half against Denver.

“Dirty Dan” hauled in his second interception of the season and the 11th of his career, including the postseason. His first pick of the 2020 season came last week in the final moments to seal the Monday afternoon win against the Buffalo Bills.

Sorensen’s first pick six of his career was in 2016 against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, October 23. His second one came in 2018 on Sunday, December 30 against the Oakland Raiders.
