PROVO, Utah – BYU moves to 6-0 with a dominating 52-14 victory over the Texas State Bobcats. The Cougars played in another late-night national TV window so it brought an interesting mix of voices and talking heads in the football world to watch the Cougars move to 6-0 for the first time since 2008.
The opinions mostly centered on BYU quarterback Zach Wilson, who even drew praise from College Football Hall of Famer Joe Theismann, who had a stellar career with the Washington Football Team in the NFL.
Joe Theismann was one of the notable individuals to weigh in on BYU and Wilson on Saturday night.
Here are some of the best tweets and commentary from national media and football personalities during the Cougars win over the Bobcats.
Zack Wilson, BYU’s QB has excellent arm strength, terrific touch & is really accurate. He’s just fun to watch.

#BYU QB Zach Wilson doing Zach Wilson things again – some NFL-level throws on that opening drive.
Each week he shows why he is one of the top-5 draft-eligible QBs in the country. 📈📈📈

Oh and just a reminder, BYU and this cat are pretty good pic.twitter.com/Bh54XL05s3

He’s quickly trending upward and has a strong argument to be in the top-5 draft eligible QBs. Some people like to mention BYU’s soft schedule, but big time throws are big time throws and he’s been doing it consistently since the season opener vs. Navy https://t.co/tzjSkJgxAS

BYU QB Zach Wilson comes into this week leading the nation in completion percentage overall (78.7%), and in passes that travel at least 20 yds in the air (76.2%). Think about that–his deep pass percentage is higher than almost every other QB’s overall percentage. #tsuvsbyu

I think it’s fair to question BYU’s schedule — too bad because their original slate was nice
But you can’t question some of the throws Zach Wilson is making
He’s got it

The day of football started with both Trevor Lawrence and Justin Fields … but if you want to end it with a QB who may be in that discussion with those guys when it’s all said and done, change it to ESPN and watch BYU QB Zach Wilson

Did you see that throw? @zachkapono @BYUfootball QB throws the best ball in college football. His release point and zip on the ball is reminiscent of #12 in Green Bay.

BYU isn’t wearing the pretty blues. BYU is struggling. Coincidence? I think not.
