Jazz Start Game 6 With Red-Hot Shooting In First Quarter

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Utah Jazz had a red-hot start to Game 6 of the NBA playoffs as they were looking to closeout the Denver Nuggets.

Utah had a 36-30 lead at the end of the first quarter. As a team, they shot 14 of 22 from the field, 5 for 8 from the three-point line and 3 of 9 from the free throw line.

Donovan Mitchell led the Jazz with 10 points. Mike Conley added 9 points.

The Jazz started the game by making their first seven field goal attempts including their first three 3-pointers. Utah was 7 of 7 from the field and held a 15-8 lead with 9:06 remaining in the opening period.

During that stretch, Donovan Mitchell had 8 points on 3 of 3 shooting from the field and 2 for 2 from beyond the arc. Mike Conley added 5 points with a two-pointer and a three. Rudy Gobert also had 5 points with two field goals and a free throw.

The Jazz last played on Tuesday when they fell to the Nuggets in Game 5. Game 6 was originally scheduled for Thursday but was postponed when NBA players decided to boycott games after the Jacob Blake shooting in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
