North Alabama Will Still Come To Play BYU Football This Fall

PROVO, Utah – After losing 10 of its originally scheduled games, only two remain from BYU’s robust 2020 schedule. One of those teams is the North Alabama Lions from the Big South Conference in the Football Championship Subdivision.
North Alabama athletic director Mark Linder confirmed on August 18th that the Lions will in fact travel to Provo on November 21st.

As BYU continues to try and piece together a full 10 or 12-game 2020 schedule, keeping the Lions is important. BYU has four games on its schedule with a fifth opponent in Army West Point according to reports.
UNA is one of the newest members of the FCS ranks, the Lions began playing Division I football in 2018. The Lions conference, the Big South, postponed fall football to the spring but kept the opportunity open for member schools to play up to four non-conference games in 2020.
Games against FCS programs are usually a typical sight during a fall college football season. This year, as we know, is anything but typical. BYU hosting North Alabama is one of 11 games currently scheduled between FBS and FCS teams for the 2020 fall season. All FCS conferences have postponed its fall season to the spring creating the shortage of “David vs. Goliath” matchups.
