PROVO, Utah – This scheduling stuff leading up to a BYU football season during a pandemic is kind of fun. BYU has reportedly added another game to its 2020 schedule. This time its the Army West Point Black Knights, which will be played on September 19th in Michie Stadium on the CBS Television Network.
BYU and Army West Point have never met before on the gridiron. The 2020 matchup will mark the first meeting between the two schools.

Like BYU, Army is an FBS Independent who has been hit hard by scheduling changes due to leagues postponing or canceling their respective seasons.
During this pandemic when scheduling changes were starting to happen, BYU and Army made a lot of sense to piece together a game or two against one another. Army head coach Jeff Monken said to the Dan Patrick Show on August 17th that the Black Knights were hearing from Power 5 teams.
Adding Army now means BYU has two of the three military football programs on its 2020 schedule. BYU is scheduled to open its season against the Navy Midshipmen on Labor Day night on ESPN.
The Black Knights will make a return trip to Provo in 2032.
A matchup with Army would be the fifth game on BYU’s 2020 football schedule which is slowly but surely building itself back up after losing 10 of its original 12 games due to cancelations and leagues going to Conference-only schedules.
BYU just began week three of fall camp practices this week. An advantage and luxury that many college football programs amid the COVID-19 pandemic have not had the luxury of doing in 2020.
What’s fascinating about BYU football in 2020 is that the Cougars are the only program out west (mountain & pacific time zones) that is still planning on playing a football season this fall.

Sept. 7th at Navy, ESPN
Sept. 19th at Army, CBS Television Network
Sept. 26th TROY, ESPN network
