Former Utah C Jakob Poeltl Shines For Spurs In Win Over Jazz

ORLANDO, Fla. – Former Utah center and current member of the San Antonio Spurs Jakob Poeltl had a strong showing in their win over the Utah Jazz on Friday.
Poeltl recorded a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds while also blocking three shots. The Austrian shot 9 of 12 from the field and 1 of 2 at the free throw line in 30 minutes of action. It’s his second double-double this season and the seventh of his career.
The former Ute got the start for the Spurs in their 119-111 win over the Jazz.

The Spurs moved to 3-2 in the NBA bubble in Orlando. Poeltl
San Antonio is without all-star big man LaMarcus Aldridge who is missing the NBA restart due to surgery. The absence of Aldridge has opened up more minutes for Poeltl.
This season, Poeltl is averaging 5.2 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 17 minutes per game. In the bubble, the big man is posting 7.6 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.6 blocks in 27 minutes per contest and started in all five games.
The Spurs are currently in 10th place in the Western Conference with a 30-38 record. They are one game behind Portland for the ninth spot and two games back of the Memphis Grizzlies for the eighth and final playoff spot.
San Antonio will be back in action on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. MT against the New Orleans Pelicans. The game will be televised on ABC.
