Jordan Clarkson Ends Strong First Quarter With Impressive Acrobatic Layup

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah Jazz guard Jordan Clarkson had a strong first quarter in their clash with the San Antonio Spurs.

The Jazz sixth man had a really big performance in the opening quarter against the Spurs with 13 points on 4 of 9 shooting from the field and 2 of 5 from downtown.

The last bucket he made in the first quarter was when he drove the basket and met three Spurs defenders. He slid to the right past Drew Eubanks and got the layup to fall. Eubanks was called for the foul.

After the made free throw by Clarkson, Utah trailed San Antonio 36-27 with 36.9 seconds left in the opening period.

Clarkson is expected to step up even more in the game against San Antonio with four starters out due to injury or rest. Mike Conley, Donovan Mitchell, Royce O’Neale and Rudy Gobert were listed as out for the game against the Spurs.

The Jazz started Emmanuel Mudiay at point guard, Joe Ingles at shooting guard, small forward was Miye Oni, Georges Niang was at power forward and Ed Davis at center.

This is the fifth of eight reseeding games for the Jazz. Utah has locked up a playoff spot while the Spurs are fighting to snatch the eighth and final playoff spot.
