Utah Jazz Come Back From Down Double Digits, End First Half With Big Run Against Grizzlies

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Jazz bounced back from a first half deficit of 13 points and ended the second quarter of action with a 22-1 run lead to lead the Memphis Grizzlies at halftime.
The Jazz played the Grizzlies in Utah’s fourth game of the NBA’s restart at Disney’s ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Florida on Wednesday, August 5.
Memphis’ Dillon Brooks connected on a 14-foot pull-up jumper to give the Grizzlies a 54-42 advantage with 4:56 remaining until halftime.
Utah’s proceeded to score 22 points and limited Memphis to one made free throw over the next 4:19 of game time. The 22-1 run helped the Jazz regain the lead and take a 64-55 edge into the locker room at the break.

Second quarter run by the Utah Jazz
The late first half run was comprised entirely from baskets by the Jazz starting lineup featuring Mike Conley, Donovan Mitchell, Joe Ingles, Royce O’Neale, and Rudy Gobert.

Memphis only point during that stretch came on a free throw by Ja Morant with just over a minute left in the half.
After trailing 31-25 at the end of the first quarter, Utah went into the break with a nine-point advantage.
During the first 24 minutes of action, the Jazz shot 51.2 percent compared to 48.8 percent by the Grizzlies.
Four Jazz starters scored in double figures led by Gobert’s 14 points. Memphis was carried by Brooks who scored 20 points.
