Pac-12 Announce 10-Game Season To Begin September 26, Championship Game Delayed Two Weeks

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Pac 12 today officially announced that the 2020 Pac-12 football season will consist of a 10-game season beginning on September 26.

Utah’s schedule is as follows –

Sept. 26: Utah @ Washington State
Oct. 3: Utah @ Colorado
Oct. 10: Oregon State @ Utah
Oct. 16: Utah @ UCLA
BYE
Oct 31: Arizona @ Utah
Nov 7: Utah @ Arizona State
Nov 14: Washington @ Utah
Nov 21: Utah @ California
Nov 27: USC @ Utah
Dec 5: Oregon @ Utah

“From the onset of the COVID-19 crisis, we have been committed to prioritizing the health and safety of our student-athletes and all those connected to our athletic programs,” said Pac-12 Commissioner Larry Scott.  “The schedule and plans approved today and path to return to competition are subject to public health orders and will be taken in accordance with the health and well-being guidelines developed by our Pac-12 Medical Advisory Committee.  The schedule and return to play plans provide for maximum flexibility and the best opportunity to play all fall sports in an environment that prioritizes safety.  At the same time, we will continue to evaluate the best available science, data and advice of public health officials as we make decisions and any required adjustments going forward.”

Earlier this week (Thursday, July 30) the Southeastern Conference (SEC) announced their plan to play a 10-game conference only schedule which will also begin on September 26.

Pac-12 Football Championship Game Delayed

The Pac-12 Championship Game has subsequently been pushed back due to the delayed season start.

The 2020 Championship Game date is now December 19, the same day that the SEC will also host their Championship Game.
