Local Sports Teams Wish State Of Utah ‘Happy Pioneer Day’

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Multiple local sports organizations posted on social media to wish people in the state of Utah a “Happy Pioneer Day.”
Pioneer Day is an official holiday in the state of Utah. It is celebrated annually on July 24 in commemoration of the arrival of the first group of pioneers from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints into the state in 1847.
On July 24, some of Utah’s local sports teams shared in celebrating the holiday with fans in the state.

“Happy Pioneer Day, Utah!” tweeted the Jazz organization.
The Jazz posted a video that featured the song “UtahโฆThis Is The Place” andย players dancing.

The University of Utah’s athletic department shared a graphic that said, “Happy Pioneer Day From Utah Athletics.” Photos from landmarks around the state of Utah were featured in the post.
