Former Utah Utes Defensive Lineman Leki Fotu Officially Signs Contract With Arizona Cardinals

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Former Utah Utes and current Arizona Cardinals defensive lineman Leki Fotu signed his first pro contract and officially became a member of the Glendale-based NFL franchise.
The Cardinals confirmed Fotu’s signing, as well as the team’s other 2020 draft picks, on Wednesday, July 22.
Fotu’s deal with Arizona is reportedly for four seasons and is worth over $4 million. The former Utah DL received a signing bonus of $773,470.

The Cardinals selected Fotu with the 114th overall pick during the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft in April. He was the fifth Utah player to be selected in the Draft.
Last season, Arizona had a 5-10-1 record.

Leki Fotu’s Utah Utes Career
Prior to his time at the University of Utah, Fotu played at Herriman High School in Herriman, Utah.
During his freshman season in 2016, he saw action in five games.
In Fotu’s sophomore season, he played in 13 games, including two starts. Fotu recorded 22 tackles and 3.5 tackles for loss.
In 2018, he was named first-team All-Pac-12 after posting 33 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, and 3 sacks. Fotu played in and started all 14 of Utah’s games that season.
Last season as a senior, Fotu was named first-team All-Pac-12 and an All-American. He had 29 tackles, 9 tackles for loss, and two pass breakups.
