Three Weber State Football Players Earn Preseason All-America Honors

OGDEN, Utah – Three Weber State Wildcats have been named football preseason All-Americans.
Running back Josh Davis, offensive lineman Ty Whitworth and kicker Trey Tuttle have been named to the HERO Sports second team.
Josh Davis will be a junior this season and has already been wildly productive in his first two seasons in Ogden. The Alta High School alum is a two-time All-American and two time first team All-Big Sky honors. He ranks fifth in school history with 2,498 career rushing yards and 20 touchdowns. Davis won the Jerry Rice Award after the 2018 season as the National Freshman of the Year.
Trey Tuttle is entering his senior season with Weber State. The two-time All-American has been a All-Big Sky selection three times. He has made 61 field goals which is second-most in Weber State history. Tuttle needs seven more field goals to become the all-time leader.

Ty Whitworth will be a senior for the Wildcats in 2020. He has earned first team All-Big Sky honors in each of the last two seasons. Whitworth has started all 42 games of his Wildcat career.
Weber State was picked No. 6 in the HERO Sports Preseason Top 25 poll.
The Wildcats are coming off a record-setting year in 2019. WSU tied its school-record with 11 wins, finish 11-4 overall. WSU won its third-straight Big Sky title and advanced to the semifinals of the FCS Playoffs for the first time ever.
Weber State finished the season ranked third in the nation, the highest ranking in school history. Head coach Jay Hill is back for his seventh season as head coach of the Wildcats, Hill was named the AFCA Region Coach of the Year in 2019 and has the highest conference winning percentage in Weber State history.
The 2020 season for Weber State is scheduled to kickoff on Sept. 5 at Wyoming.
